In an article published by the associated Press, "The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau issues permits that allow businesses to open, craft a new beer or wine, or create labeling for a product. That agency is currently closed.

Some businesses have delayed opening while they wait for permits from the agency."

Something to consider is the potential financial hit to business'. There is still debt accruing while permits are delayed: rent, utilities, and other expenses are going--out meanwhile, there is no money coming in.

This means that the launch of anything new for these business' is at a severe stop.



According to the article, "once the bureau reopens, there will likely be a backlog of applications to be processed, which has businesses owners worried."
